a) Find the perimeter.
b) If fencing costs ₹18 per metre, find the total fencing cost.
Perimeter = 2(24+16) = 80 m
Cost = 80 × 18 = ₹1440
2. A rectangular garden is 30 m long and 12 m wide.
Find the area. If grass costs ₹10 per sq.m, find the total cost.
Area = 30 × 12 = 360 sq.m
Cost = 360 × 10 = ₹3600
3. A square courtyard has side 14 m.
a) Find the perimeter.
b) If fencing costs ₹20 per metre, find the cost.
Perimeter = 4 × 14 = 56 m
Cost = 56 × 20 = ₹1120
4. A square playground has side 25 m.
Find the area. If tiles cost ₹8 per sq.m, find total cost.
Area = 25 × 25 = 625 sq.m
Cost = 625 × 8 = ₹5000
5. A cube has side length 5 cm.
Find the volume of the cube.
Volume = 5 × 5 × 5 = 125 cu.cm
6. A cube shaped toy box has side 8 cm.
How many 1 cu.cm cubes can fill it?
Volume = 8³ = 512 cu.cm

9. A classroom floor is 12 m long and 8 m wide.
Find the area. If one tile covers 1 sq.m, how many tiles are needed?
Area = 12 × 8 = 96 sq.m
Tiles needed = 96
10. A square garden has side 18 m.
Find the perimeter and area.
Perimeter = 4 × 18 = 72 m
Area = 18 × 18 = 324 sq.m
